About Me
Hello and welcome to WitchSoul!
My name is Dana, and I'm the creator, designer, maker, packer, quality inspector, customer support representative, and night owl behind everything you see here.
I truly believe handmade items carry a little piece of the person who created them. That's why I spend most of my time creating items that feel personal, thoughtful, and distinct from mass-produced alternatives. Many of my designs are inspired by cozy games, fantasy worlds, nature, folklore, and the little moments that make us smile.
I'm a strong advocate for self-identity, so I enjoy making one-of-a-kind items that resonate with people based on their likes, stories, and uniqueness.
I'm also a mom of 3 homeschooled boys, raising chickens, ducks, 2 cats, and a crazy dog.
My favorite colors are purple... and teal.
I have a Bachelor's in Fine Arts, and my mind is almost annoyingly creative, so much so that it rarely gives me a moment of peace. Some of my ideas are good, others are quite crazy, and a few seem like they come straight out of a wonderland alien apocalypse.
I am not comfortable being on camera and speaking to people. I truly admire and respect those who stream frequently. I plan to add a section where I can recommend some of these streamers, as I believe they create a great vibe and foster a positive environment within their communities.
Thanks to my amazing community, I'm aware of a group of individuals who have been dedicating significant time and effort to defame me and my work. They have called my creations "AI rip-off," "AI slop," and other names I'd prefer not to repeat. I want to clarify that these people do not know me at all; they have never interacted with me, and I honestly do not understand the source of their animosity.
In their opinion, I was supposed to "prove my worth" to a streamer who was not convinced of my work, and I allegedly failed to do so. While I don't like to engage in gossip, I feel a brief explanation is warranted, but I won't mention any names or point fingers because that is not my style.
At the start of this website, I reached out to some streamers to establish connections and, hopefully, create a mutually beneficial partnership based on respect and benefit for both parties. My idea was to provide items I created for free or at significant discounts in exchange for some promotion for my newly launched website. During those discussions, I was questioned about my use of AI. I responded honestly: I do use AI, but only for certain purposes, such as conducting research and sometimes changing the background of a picture of an actual physical product for my online store, creating a collage, and certainly to create models for my products: I do not have resources to pay for an actual model, I would definetely not like to photoshop someone's face for my products, and, honestly, the mockups provided by the apparel printing companies are pretty boring, and flavorless (no offense!).
I find it very disrespectful to be put under a microscope and asked to document my entire creative process to prove myself. I invest a lot of time in my work, and I certainly won't be filming everything I do; otherwise, I would quickly run out of storage.
Questioning an artist's work is one thing, criticizing it is another, but outright judging or accusing someone is simply not right.
It's quite simple: you either like it or you don't. There's no need to campaign against or judge people without reason. Have you ever considered that you might be wrong?
I would like to clarify the pricing, especially regarding the cards. As I mentioned earlier, I launched my website in 2026. Due to intense competition with larger websites, Google will not prominently display my site in search results. Therefore, I will continue to operate my Etsy and Amazon stores. Both platforms have fees, particularly Amazon, which forces me to adjust my prices accordingly. However, my website will always offer the best possible pricing.
It's important to note that my cards are not just simply printed and cut. It takes about 4-5 hours to create each set of cards. Each set contains 96 cards, which go through the following process: aligning, printing, laminating, cutting, rounding the corners, laminating again, wrapping, and packing. It may sound straightforward, but I assure you, it is not an easy task.
For a better price comparison, there are several print-on-demand services where you can upload your designs and receive pricing. I assure you that printing 96 cards will not be inexpensive. However, I encourage you to try it yourself; don't just take my word for it.
Additionally, when considering the costs, we must account for the time spent working—4 to 5 hours for less than minimum wage—as well as the cost of materials. We should also factor in the 2+ months I dedicated to my tablet and my old Photoshop 8.0, during which I spent time drawing, erasing, and getting frustrated until I finally completed all the layers, icons, filters, and other elements.
Ultimately, and most importantly, I love Palia. I've introduced the game to everyone I know and consider it my favorite by far. Inspired by Palia, my items and designs serve as a heartfelt tribute to a game I truly cherish. Rather than copying or claiming the original artwork, I reimagine familiar in-game elements in a different style, bringing their cozy spirit to real-life, everyday items. However, I want to clarify that I have never claimed any affiliation with the game in any way, shape, or form, nor have I stated that my creations inspired by Palia are official merchandise. That would be disrespectful and outright wrong.
Everything I create comes from my small workshop in the hot climate of South Florida. The only exception is the apparel, which is processed through a third party where I upload my designs. Whether I'm assembling card sets, creating packaging, engraving wood, sewing patchwork pieces, or experimenting with new ideas, my goal remains the same: to produce something that brings a little joy to someone else's day.
